迷茫又无惧的我们 aka Last but Not Least, Episode 14.

The execution of the physical punishment is delayed for a few minutes when Teacher Su Boming enters the room. Just as Mr. Ma prepares to strike, teacher Su Boming (Super Ming) bursts into the room. Feeling personally responsible because he had scolded Chengzheng earlier, Su begs the administration to spare the boy.

Mr. Ma warns Su to back down, and Principal Neo threatens to report Su to the Ministry of Education for insubordination. Ultimately, it is Chengzheng himself who halts the chaos. Recalling a ruler Su had previously given him as a symbol of boundaries, Chengzheng tells his teacher: “Super Ming, remember the ruler you gave me? I was the one who broke the rule. You said it yourself: when you do something wrong, you must own up to it. It’s just three strokes of the cane. I can take it. Please leave.”

Chengzheng committed a reckless, multi-level breach of school discipline: he stole a teacher's car keys, took the vehicle on an unauthorized joyride across the campus courtyard, crashed and scratched it against the school gate, and fled campus. Because he had a history of repeated disciplinary infractions, the school's Discipline Committee unanimously sentenced him to formal school corporal punishment: three strokes of the rattan cane across the buttocks.

What gives this scene its dramatic tension is the personal connection between the offender and the discipliner. Earlier in the episode, when Chengzheng steals the white crossover SUV and damages it, the teacher who runs out onto the balcony screaming in agony—“My car! I just bought it a few months ago!”—is Mr. Ma himself. When the sentence is handed down, Mr. Ma is not just acting as an impartial school official—he is the direct victim of Chengzheng's crime.At the same time, Principal Neo is Chengzheng’s mother. To prevent any appearance of nepotism or leniency, she insists that her son be held to the highest standard of accountability.
