Although Duangjai was immediately slapped by Mae Samon (the guest's chaperone), her dad, Kamnan Pan, decides to discipline her further at home with a thin wooden switch.

In his eyes, she was insolent and forgot her place in the social hierarchy, bringing dishonor and embarrassment to the master's household. He punishes her to teach her obedience, self-restraint, and to ensure she never talks back to the aristocracy again.

The young master Kritsada (the master’s son) rushes to the pavilion and firmly stops Kamnan Pan. Kritsada takes the blame upon himself, arguing that he is the true cause of the incident because he should have restrained Pin Kaew from the start. He defends Duangjai, stating that she did the right thing by protecting his father's beloved flowers.
