He forcefully shoos the mother and the other siblings away so they cannot help him. 

Once the father falls asleep, Korn's older brother comes outside to find him. Bringing warmth and comfort, the brother invites Korn back into the house. 

The flashback continues by showing Korn forced to spend the night sleeping on a wooden bench outside. In the end, the older brother leads Korn back into the house.
