He goes on to share an anecdote about a time he was disciplined so intensely with a broom handle that his mother’s wig fell off during the physical punishment.

They go on to discuss an extension cord that while effective, this particular tool is now so widely frowned upon that using it could potentially trigger a visit from child protective services.

Finally, they talk about the leather belt that Kevin's mama used in that scene. 

By sharing these stories, they aren't just venting; they are normalizing their shared struggle, with the older boys trying to reassure Kevin that he isn't alone in facing such strict—and often painful—parental discipline.
