Shine on Harvey Moon, Season 3., Episode 5. Sentimental Journey
This is from the TV Series called Shine on Harvey Moon, Season 3., Episode 5. Sentimental Journey (United Kingdom 1984) Headmaster M/m pupil Moon, hint of diciplinary caning on his bum, position of standing, in the headmaster's office, no actually spanking.
The headmaster threatens physical punishment to the pupil named Moon.
Moon acted cheekily during a Latin class with a teacher Mr. Barker. While repeatedly reciting grammar (amo, amas, amat and mensa, mensa, mensam), he asked the teacher whether Romans went around telling everyone how much they loved tables. This made the whole class laugh, and the teacher sent him to the headmaster.
During the conversation, the headmaster gets up, takes a flexible cane out and brandishes it in front of the boy, visually demonstrating the punishment awaiting him if he fails to reform.
The headmaster offers the boy a way to avoid a caning—he must apologize to Mr. Barker and serve today's and tomorrow's detention.
When Moon asks what the word "buttock" means, the headmaster replies that it is half of what he will sit on very carefully if he shows up in the headmaster's office again. He then dismisses him.
It is certainly a very nice, but also strange scene. After all, it is at least unusual for a student of Moon's age, who is a native English speaker, not to know what the word 'buttocks' means. Maybe he genuinely didn't know, or perhaps he was just playing dumb. But we will probably never know for sure.
