Mr. Wroe's Virgins, Episode 1. Leah's Story

The story takes place in the environment of a Christian Israelite sect, led by the self-proclaimed prophet John Wroe in Ashton-under-Lyne, England. 

Sister Joanna reads a list of offences and their corresponding punishments, which have been mandated by Prophet Wroe. As part of the sect's rigorous discipline, the women are tasked with administering corporal punishment (flogging with a switch) to members of the community who have strayed. Joanna explains the precise procedure: the offender must be stripped, clad in a punishment gown, and beaten on their bare buttocks. Sister Leah is visibly disturbed and questions what happens if the punishment provokes physical arousal or appetite for sin, but Joanna dismisses her concerns, insisting on strict adherence to the prophet’s rules.

Joanna is one of the chosen virgins who has taken on the role of an organizer and enforcer within Wroe's household.

Leah is one of the series' protagonist, who is struggling to navigate life within the sect.

Wroe uses his virgins as tools of physical and psychological control to dominate the rest of the sect, all while maintaining his position as an untouchable authority.
