Kiss Me Kate from September 17th, 2023

 This is from a production of the musical Kiss Me, Kate, performed at the Sharadin Bigler Theatre in Ephrata, Pennsylvania (September 17th, 2023 - USA) Petruchio M/F his bride-to-be, Kate, spanking with his hand on her bottom clad in a skirt, position of bent over his knee, in front of her father and some other persons. Kate refuses, saying her backside hurts and that Petruchio knows it. Petruchio then offers her a pillow, placing it on the chair for her to sit on. But as Kate goes to sit down, Petruchio pulls the pillow away, and Kate lands right on her sore butt.

In this context, we can see that Kate is exaggerating her pain to humiliate Petruchio and make him look like an abuser. However, for some of us, Kate's exaggeration can have its own charm and a pleasant side to it.

The storyline is the same as in all other productions. Petruchio tries to tame his bride-to-be, Kate, who hates men. She is very insolent and rebellious, constantly insulting Petruchio and even physically attacking him. In the end, however, everything turns out well, and Petruchio successfully manages to change her.
