The Testament of Ann Lee
The scenes are from the film called The Testament of Ann Lee (United Kingdom, USA 2025) 1. Dad John Lee M/f Ann Lee, thrashing with a switch on her backside, position of leaning by her hands on the table, in the presence of other family members.
The reason of the corporal punishment is that Ann confronts her parents about their intimate life, stating, "I know what you do to her."
In a 18th-century working-class household, such a comment from a child was seen as extreme insolence and a sign of being possessed by unnatural thoughts. Her father punishes her with a switch in front of the family to suppress her burgeoning religious fanaticism and to re-establish patriarchal order.
2. Confessor Father Dirrag M/F novice nun Eradice, whipping with a birch on her naked ass, position of kneeling down on the floor, in front of another person.
Disclaimer: This scene is just an illustration from the famous 18th-century erotic novel titled Thérèse Philosophe.
On the page, Father Dirrag is performing what Abraham refers to as instructing her in the ways of prayer. He claims that Eradice has been chosen by God to experience His full presence. He uses physical discipline—referred to as the "rope of Saint Francis"—as a ritualistic tool to induce what he describes as exalted religious ecstasy.
3. Husband Abraham M/F wife Ann Lee, birching with a short birch on her bare posterior, position of bent over. This is a highly calculated spanking based on the book illustration from the second scene, designed to coerce the wife into sex despite her refusal and deep repulsion toward it.
Abraham uses this book and its graphic illustrations as a calculated form of religious and sexual provocation against Ann. By showing her an image of a priest spanking a nun, he intends to humiliate her and suggest that a man’s physical authority over a woman is sanctified or religiously permissible.
4. Husband Abraham M/F wife Ann Lee, hitting with the short birch on her naked bottom, position of leaning by her hands on a table a slightly bent over.
The motive behind this scene is identical to the previous sequence. The husband strikes her bare bottom with a short birch, feigning that it is for religious purification and spiritual exaltation. In reality, his true goal is to coerce her into having sex with him.
5. Enemies of Ann’s religious movement MM/MM William Lee (Ann’s brother) and James Whittaker closest associate of Ann Lee, beating with some switches, position kneeling down on the ground with their upper bodies leaning over a wooden structure, in the presence of other people.
The Shakers are viewed as a threat to society because of their pacifism and their rejection of traditional marriage (The Shaker movement is an informal name for Ann’s religious movement). An angry mob interrupts their meeting, accusing Ann of being a witch. While the men of the mob attempt to strip Ann to examine her sex, her brother William and the Elder James Whittaker step in to protect her. But they are seized and hard thrashed.
The second, third, and fourth scenes carry a sexual context. English language and subtitles https://ok.ru/video/12520631700155 and https://vkvideo.ru/video-229942838_456239698?list=ln-5wF9s1QciDVzjeFAzd
