Eina

 This is from the short student documentary called Eina (South Africa 2016) Afrikaans teacher M/m teen schoolboy in grade 8, two whacks with a wooden board on his backside, position of bent over a school desk, in the presence of his classmates in a classroom, partially off-screen, spoken word. This is a demonstration of the corporal punishment that the young man, Michael, experienced. He was playing with a metal ruler (reflecting light on the wall). The teacher grabbed him by the collar, dragged him to the desk and forced to bend over.

Two other male former students and one female former student share their experiences with corporal punishment at the school.

Both male and female teachers administered the spankings at the school. Most of all, the students complained about the sense of humiliation that overwhelmed them during the process. The girl refers to our school – punishments were an everyday thing by multiple teachers. The former female student recalls receiving ten lashes from a female teacher and crying. The teacher told her that if she didn't stay quiet, she would add another five lashes. These punishments continued illegally even after the 1996 ban, despite teachers facing up to 10 years in prison for such acts. The discipline was physical, verbal, and deeply humiliating. 

The film-maker also shows and burns a photo of his bottom (red marks showing) which was taken 8 hours after he was whacked by his school teacher. 

A Rhodes University television student's documentary film about the impact of receiving corporal punishment at school had on him and three other students, all of which was experienced after the legal ban of school corporal punishment in 1996. The film by Michael Dorfling is based on a personal experience he went through in high school. 

My explanation of the harmful consequences of corporal punishment:

To satisfy the opponents of physical punishment, I offer them an explanation of why it could have turned out so badly. A lot depends on who is administering the disciplinary spanking. If it is carried out by a malicious, low-character person, it can end very badly, because the evil energy from that wicked executor of the punishment is transferred to the punished person. (A human being is an energetic creature. After brain death, the gross material body ceases to exist, but the essence of a person — their energetic soul — continues onward; it only transforms into other forms of existence.) That is why it matters so much who is the one giving the disciplinary spanking.

Secondly — corporal punishment should be explicitly prohibited on any part of the body other than the buttocks. God created the buttocks not only for sitting, but also for punishment. The Bible, specifically the Old Testament, nowhere recommends directing disciplinary spankings to any other part of the body than the butt. In the past, people misinterpreted this badly and began to believe that physical punishments could be applied to other parts of the body as well. And that is exactly where the root of the problem lies. Since God designed the buttocks for corporal punishment, people have no right to arbitrarily beat elsewhere. Doing so is a violation of God’s law. 

Furthermore, disciplinary spankings must not be administered in a state of anger or, more generally, in any state of negative thoughts and emotions. The act should be carried out calmly, with love, and with the sincere intention of correcting the offender. If the situation calls for it, an educational conversation should take place beforehand, during which the wrongdoing is discussed with the person and it is clearly explained why the punishment will be given.

When a disciplinary spanking is performed with explanation, in calmness, with love, and with the strokes directed only to the one correct place (the posterior), there is no risk that the corporal punishment will leave harmful consequences.

However, be aware that in malicious, career-driven, power-hungry, and money-obsessed people, even such properly conducted spankings can provoke strong resistance. Such individuals want at all costs to surpass others, to be better than everyone else in everything, to have far more money than others, and so on. In connection with a correctly administered disciplinary spanking, they feel aversion because it cultivates humility in the punished person — and they perceive humility as a diminishment of human dignity and as a threat to their goals, which are material wealth and personal success regardless of others.
