เราเกิดในรัชกาลที่ ๙ เดอะซีรีส์ aka We Were Born in the 9th Reign, Episode 1.

 The scenes are from the TV Series called เราเกิดในรัชกาลที่ ๙ เดอะซีรีส์ aka We Were Born in the 9th Reign, Episode 1. (Thailand 2016) The first two scenes were previously published here back in March 2023. The good news is that another interesting scene has been discovered in that episode, English subtitles have been added, and we finally have an explanation for the motives behind these disciplinary canings. Her mom, who is also her teacher, frequently punished her with a cane on her bottom for various violations of the school rules.

Originally, a male teacher was supposed to carry out the punishment, but the mother intervened just as he was about to strike, asking him to hand over the cane so she could do it herself.

Phim resents that her mother sets such high expectations for her and is much stricter with her than with the other students. Phim says: 'I never wanted to be a teacher’s child; I always just wanted to be my mother’s child. 

The schoolgirl Phim wrongly believes that her mother never truly loved her, and she confesses this to the male teacher who was originally supposed to punish her. On the contrary, her mother loves her deeply and combines pedagogical strictness with maternal love.

All of these disciplinary canings are flashbacks to Phim’s student years at the school where her mother also served as a teacher.
