嫁佞臣 aka Marry a Sycophant Courtier

The Eldest Princess catches Lu Qingci and the Prince in an intimate or unusual situation. To explain what is happening—and to simultaneously humiliate and confuse the Princess (who is obsessed with the Prince)—Lu Qingci starts acting as if she is disciplining or punishing him. 

The Princess cannot believe that the powerful and feared Regent, whom she worships, allows himself to be struck by Lu Qingci. It completely breaks her mentally. 

Lu Qingci proves that her bond with the Prince is so strong that she can afford to do things to him that would cost anyone else their head.

This scene is meant to show the audience that Lu Qingci is no longer the frightened girl from the beginning, but a woman who can control even the most powerful man in the country while her enemies watch helplessly.
