His grandmother went to pick him up at the police station, where he had been locked in a cell. The son was detained in a police cell because of a fight. In their traditional household, having a family member taken to a police station is seen as a massive disgrace. The fact that his elderly grandmother had to go to the station to bail him out and bring him home added to the father's fury.
